Registration 2025
Welcome Swim Families! Please read through the registration information and answer questions carefully to ensure that you are well informed and that your swimmers are successfully registered for the 2025 Memorial Parkway Marlins Swim Team.
Please note: Priority of registration will be considered in the following order:
1) Returning Memorial Parkway Swim Team (MPST) members
2) Memorial Parkway residents
3) Non-Memorial Parkway residents
If it becomes necessary to cap certain age groups, registrants exceeding the cap limits in their respective age groups will be placed on a wait list and notified of their status.
AGE AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Your swimmer must be between 4 and 18 years old on May 1, 2025.
2. Your swimmer must be a novice as defined by the West Houston Aquatic League (WHALe).
3. If a swimmer has a current TAGS time in any stroke in his/her age group, he/she must swim that stroke up one (1) age group. If a swimmer has a Sectional time in any stroke, he/she is precluded from swimming that stroke in a meet. Please refer to the WHALe Policies and Procedures for penalties associated with violation of these rules. A swimmer cannot have swum on any college or university swim team.
4. Your swimmer must be able to safely swim 25 yards (length of pool) unassisted. New swimmer evaluations will be held Saturday, April 26th. See our schedule for more info. Swimmer readiness will be determined by the MPST Coaches and Board. If in doubt of your swimmer's abilities, it is recommended that swim lessons be taken in advance of the swim season to help him/her achieve success. Swim team is a competitive recreational sport, not swim lessons.
COMPETITIVE MEETS:
All swimmers are required to compete in a minimum of 50% of the regular season swim meets (2 of 4 meets). Families who do not meet this requirement may not be eligible to pre-register for the following season, unless otherwise approved by the board.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
Parents are required to volunteer for 75% of the meets their swimmer/s participate in. Furthermore, if your swimmer qualifies and participates in the Meet of Champs (MOC), you will be required to volunteer for the MOC. A description of volunteer positions can be found on our website under the "Parent Info/FAQ" tab. Sign-ups for volunteer jobs will be done online.
COST:
$135 First Swimmer, $125 Second Swimmer, $110 Each Additional Swimmer
